    Program Summary: Tina McMurtrie has been selected as the CSC Coordinator, she will facilitate all necessary actions needed to accomplishment the goals of the CSC Task Force: including but not limited to, leading and calling all meetings, provide agendas, & minutes. Tina will assign actions and follow up with her own assigned actions, and update the Climate smart website sites actions-certification portal. Tina will expedite and follow up on all actions assigned to each member. Tina will also be the liaison between Dazzle & Amanda from Climate Smart for the committee.

    PE1 Action: National/Regional Climate Program

    Program Summary: Clean Energy Communities Designation Announcement The Town of Cazenovia participated in four high-impact action items from the NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities program. Attached is an email documenting the Town receiving a grant award for their designation as a CEC in August 2017. The Town is continuing to participating in CEC by executing a contract with NYSEG to replace all streetlight bulbs with LED's and exploring a 100% renewable Solar Energy farm.

    PE2 Action: Government Operations Climate Action Plan

    Program Summary: Page 5 paragraph 3 of the 2015 Cazenovia Climate Action Plan states: "The committee agreed on a goal to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by the year 2025 from the GHG inventory baseline years for the Town (2010) and village (2011) " This goal applies to emissions from town government operations (not just from the community as a whole). The CAP is posted on the Town of Cazenovia website under the tab of Energy & Sustainability: https://towncazenovia.digitaltowpath.org:10079/content/Generic/View/102 Also, copies of the CAP are available to the public at the Town offices, 7 Albany Street Cazenovia NY. The following is an article that appeared in the Cazenovia Republican, one of many talking about the CAP https://www.eaglenewsonline.com/news/new/government/2019/05/06/cazenovia-working-to-become-climate-smart/ The Village and Town of Cazenovia are proud to partner with the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board to create this Climate Action Plan. Our municipalities have a long history of appreciating our natural environment which is at the very core of our sense of place as a community. Our adoption of the Climate Smart Communities Pledge and participation in this planning process are great examples of “thinking globally and acting locally” to protect our environment.

    PE3 Action: Interior Lighting Upgrades

    Program Summary: 2 years ago all lights fixtures in all Town of Cazenovia buildings were inventoried: 24 total lights inventoried, 24 needed new LED bulbs. We purchased new bulbs and replaced all outdated bulbs. Invoices attached. We have a complete set of LED's for backup.

    PE3 Action: Benchmarking - Municipal Buildings

    Program Summary: Starting in 2015 (see attached Resolution) and continues today: Energy Use Data is collected and recorded. These reports are posted on our website: https://towncazenovia.digitaltowpath.org under the Energy & Sustainability Tab. We benchmark all Town of Cazenovia Municipal Buildings over 1000 Sq. Ft.: Town Hall Highway Garage Police Sub-station Water Pollution Control Facility

    PE3 Action: Fleet Inventory

    Program Summary: Please find attached a complete Fleet Inventory for the Town of Cazenovia, generated in November 2019. The headings on the spreadsheet cover the bulleted categories as they appear on the Climate Smart Communities PE3 Action, section B. MPG ratings are not typically stated by the manufacturers for vehicles exceeding ½ ton rating; therefore, this data is included only where available. The Town closely track miles/usage and fuel consumption monthly and annually, which aid in the calculation of MPG/fuel ratings. Purchasing and vehicle replacement for the Town of Cazenovia fleet is evaluated annually during the budget process, or as needed as a result of normal wear-and-tear and maintenance needs, or as a result of emergent circumstances such as machine failure. General replacement schedule includes plows (6 year basis), pick-up (2 year basis), and construction equipment (5 year basis). The vehicle fleet record is maintained by the Town Highway, and tracked daily via our fleet management software, CarCare. The Fleet Inventory is updated annually per the Town of Cazenovia Fleet Replacement Policy.

    PE3 Action: LED Street Lights

    Program Summary: RESUBMITTING FOR FULL 10 Points: LED Street lights installed in the Town of Cazenovia and in the Hamlet of New Woodstock. All street lights, totalling 37 have been converted to LED lights.

    PE3 Action: Energy Code Enforcement Training

    Program Summary: Mr. Roger Cook, Town of Cazenovia Code Officer attended several Energy Code Enforcement trainings: 2017, 2018, and completed on-line training in 2019 as part of the Town's designation process as a Clean Energy Community. Also, Commercial Energy Code Enforcement Educational Program. Certificates are attached.
